Rose & Crown Tea Experience at Epcot

Is it just me or are tea parties extra magical at Christmas time?! Earlier this season I had the pleasure of attending the Rose & Crown Tea Experience at Epcot for my first time and I've been so excited to tell you all about it!

The tea is hosted inside the Rose and Crown Restaurant and Pub which is located in the UK pavilion at Walt Disney World's Epcot. Of course separate park admission is required to enter and you have to pay in full when you make the reservation for this experience on the Disney Park's website. We each paid $35.00 which I thought this was a great value considering everything that was included!

There was a variety of teas that we got to try and individual glasses for each one. As you enjoy, cast members share very interesting information about tea as well as British traditions, etc... I learned quite a few things that I didn't already know!

The first of two courses included assorted finger sandwiches and edible flowers. I also loved that they brought out iced tea for us to try as well.

The second course included two types of scones, clotted cream, and jam. What a "sweet" way to end the meal!

My friends and I purposely scheduled our reservation for Dapper Day (because what could be more wonderful than a tea party in Disney on Dapper Day?!) If you don't know about this occasion, it's a time for guests to go to Disney all dressed up! So even after our tea time, we stayed to enjoy the day at the park still in our fancy outfits and we fit right in with the rest of the crowd! All of the Christmas decorations were on display at this time too, so of course we had to take festive photos around the World Showcase!

I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to experience this event with my friends on such a magical day and during my favorite time of year. Not only was the tea party itself so much fun, but we even got to take some of the magic home with us! They gifted us with the place cards that were used, recipes for the food they served us, and even additional tea bags! How special!

Have you indulged in this experience before? Let me know what YOU thought about it! If not, consider giving it a try next time you're in Disney! As I'm sure you can tell, I'd highly recommend it to anyone who loves tea parties like I do!

Spooky Tea Party

My latest tea party was frightfully delightful! I asked my friends if there was a theme they would like for my next tea party and they chose 'spooky'. Since it was still summer at the time, I was careful to not include specifically Halloween/fall time details such as pumpkins. Another one of my goals was to make this event feel eerie and dark, while still maintaining a tea party-esque atmosphere, adding touches of elegance amongst the gore! I set the table with these cut-out sugar cookies that are made to look like decapitated people. (Yikes, maybe I should have put a trigger warning at the top of this post?) I used a Christmas gingerbread man cookie cutter, sliced off the heads before baking, and then added some red icing after they cooled to look like blood. For the second dessert idea, I made red velvet cupcakes and decorated them with dyed pink buttercream frosting to look like brains! My favorite of all the food I served were the "finger sandwiches"! (Get it? S...

Sips by

I was so excited last Christmas when my aunt surprised me with a year long subscription to Sips by ! It's an amazing company that puts together boxes of teas to send directly to your home, personalized with your taste in mind. Since I had such a great experience, I thought I'd share some of the information in case anyone is looking for clever gift ideas for the tea lovers in their lives! When I started it at the end of last year, I was prompted to fill out a little questionnaire on their website so that they could get a sense of the types of teas I like and dislike. They used that information to help determine what to include in my boxes. I was pretty open minded when answering the questions, so I ended up with a wide variety of options. That is exactly what I wanted because it gave me the chance to try teas that I might not have normally purchased myself! Below is a glimpse of what the boxes and their contents look like: Each box came with 4 different kinds of teas to enjoy an...

Murder Mystery Tea Party

I have always wanted to do a murder mystery themed tea party because I thought it might be interesting to combine elegance with just a touch of horror! So this week I finally went ahead and organized one! Special thank you to my mom and dad for helping me with the story line and other details! And thank you also to my grandma, sisters, and the D'Angelo family for attending and participating! For this event I kept the menu relatively basic by preparing simple finger sandwiches (egg salad as well as cucumber) and a fruit tart. To add to the theme, I iced some sugar cookies with black question marks. My mom used the same black icing to draw the outline of a body on top of the cake, but added some colorful flowers to balance out the gruesomeness. ;) The setting was a high school reunion! In attendance was a tough-girl bully, perky ex-cheerleader, glitzy celebrity, exhausted mother, successful business woman, cafeteria lunch lady, and drunken teacher. Each of these party ...
