Happy New Year! (A little early!) We'll be heading into 2020 in a couple of days so I decided to celebrate by hosting a roaring '20s themed tea party! I wanted to share this idea with you before the actual holiday, that way you may have time to throw together a little shindig like this to ring in the new year this week too!

In a pinch, I actually found almost all of the decorations at Walmart (I'll link everything here - just click on the pink words!) I covered a black plastic table cloth in a bunch of gold pieces (just cut off the strings) to set the table. I also found a gold champagne bottle confetti popper to use at midnight, which doubled as a perfect centerpiece during the party. For the photo booth, I hung up another black table cloth underneath a gold foil fringe backdrop. I used a mason jar to hold some of the photo booth props that I bought second hand (you can find a new identical set HERE on Amazon). I'm sure it would also be fun to make your own or use some accessories you might already own instead like pearl necklaces, handheld fans, fascinators, or feather boas, etc..

I was so excited when I came across this "Murder in the Roaring '20s" game on Etsy! Adding activities always really livens up my get-togethers and since my last Murder Mystery Tea Party was such a success, I decided to go this route again! I downloaded it and had everything printed out before my guests arrived. This particular game is very flexible and easy to follow. Everyone chooses a character to play and is given a script to read aloud. I also loved that it allowed me to join in the fun! The time I put together my own mystery, I already knew how everything would turn out so I couldn't be a part of solving the clues, but with this one, everyone can play! You're supposed to be able to use it multiple times too, so I'm sure I'll get a lot of use out of it!

For the food, I really didn't get too creative this time... I just served typical snacks like cheese and crackers, grapes, soup, biscuits, and a pre-made ice cream cake for dessert (not pictured). Since my party was actually right before Christmas, I had tried to make this Candy Cane Caprese Coard recipe that I saw everyone posting about during the holidays. I was quite pleased with how it turned out! And for the tea, I ordered THIS ONE on Amazon that has "splashes of champagne" which I thought would be perfect since this is for a new years celebration!

Thank you so much to my mom Janine, sister Livia, her friend Paris, my aunt Susie, uncle Adam, and cousin Lincoln for participating in this event! I had such a wonderful time with all of you!
