Spa Day Tea Party

Thank you for checking out Enchanted Teas with Dahlia! If you’ve been following my blog for a while, I’m sure you know by now that I love trying new things and having a variety of different themes for my tea parties. So it’s no surprise then that I was so excited about the opportunity to host my first ever Spa Day Tea Party for my friend Claudia’s Mary Kay business! Here’s a quick shot of the table before I get into some of the details.

One of the first things that I had in mind for this event was to order cookies from my favorite cookie shop called “Icing On Top Cookie Shop” owned by my friend Taylor. She makes custom cut-out and decorated cookies that are perfect for any occasion! You can follow her on Instagram to see all of the amazing designs that she’s done and visit her website for offerings and order details if you’re in the central Florida area. Even her packaging is so adorable!

I requested spa themed cookies for this tea party and was so impressed with what she was able to do. There were bath robe and nail polish bottle shaped cookies all in the prettiest pastel colors (that just so happened to coordinate perfectly with the decorations I had prepared for the table!)

As you can see, she also included cookies that looked like girls being pampered (e.g. hair in a towel, face mask on, etc..). Everyone at the party was so excited when we realized that there was one that resembled each of us because of the hair colors!

The details on these cookies were so amazing! I loved the rose pattern of the towels as well as their rosy cheeks and dainty eyelashes. The cookies were definitely the highlight of the menu, but there were a few other goodies for guests to nibble on as well like chocolate covered strawberries and cucumber sandwiches!

After we finished eating, we put robes over our dresses (haha!) and ventured into the living room where Claudia had set up an array of Mary Kay products for us to sample! She was so sweet and gave a little demonstration, and even brought cute, fluffy socks for each of us to wear (and keep!) as well as candy too... such thoughtful favors! My favorite of the products that we got to try was the charcoal mask! We had so much fun applying it and we even used cucumbers for our eyes to get the full effect!

I like to have activities planned for all of my tea parties just to keep things lively and fun, so I had ordered a spa themed bingo set from Etsy prior to this gathering. However, we were having such a good time just talking, dining, and trying out the Mary Kay products, that we never even got around to playing it! I am still very glad that I found this printable game from Frolic Favors to have just in case and maybe I will use it another time!

Another thing I ordered from Etsy for this tea party were these spa themed photo booth props by PrettyPrincessPartz so that we could take some fun pictures!

Overall, I think this Spa Day Tea Party was a success! I really enjoyed preparing for it and everything came together so well on the day of. It was great to get together with my friends for a girly afternoon. I loved that we got all dressed up (tiaras included!) but that it was also so chill and we were able to relax and feel pampered. I definitely recommend this idea to anyone thinking about having a Spa Day Tea Party! You can get creative with it and make it all your own or follow along with what I did.

Well, that's just about everything, but before you go, take another look at the table below! A few details to notice are the new place holders that my friend Megan had gifted me. This was my first time using them and I was so excited! Some are shaped like teacups, and others teapots. I also gave each person a honey spoon! We used my blooming tea and teapot which I featured here.

In conclusion, I'd like to thank Claudia for collaborating with me, putting together such a wonderful demonstration, and allowing us to sample so many products! Thank you also to my friend Taylor for the amazing custom creations and for being so accommodating with my cookie order. Finally, thank you to Megan and Sophia for attending the party and for being such good sports! You are all so wonderful and I am so happy we are friends!

Spooky Tea Party

My latest tea party was frightfully delightful! I asked my friends if there was a theme they would like for my next tea party and they chose 'spooky'. Since it was still summer at the time, I was careful to not include specifically Halloween/fall time details such as pumpkins. Another one of my goals was to make this event feel eerie and dark, while still maintaining a tea party-esque atmosphere, adding touches of elegance amongst the gore! I set the table with these cut-out sugar cookies that are made to look like decapitated people. (Yikes, maybe I should have put a trigger warning at the top of this post?) I used a Christmas gingerbread man cookie cutter, sliced off the heads before baking, and then added some red icing after they cooled to look like blood. For the second dessert idea, I made red velvet cupcakes and decorated them with dyed pink buttercream frosting to look like brains! My favorite of all the food I served were the "finger sandwiches"! (Get it? S...

Sips by

I was so excited last Christmas when my aunt surprised me with a year long subscription to Sips by ! It's an amazing company that puts together boxes of teas to send directly to your home, personalized with your taste in mind. Since I had such a great experience, I thought I'd share some of the information in case anyone is looking for clever gift ideas for the tea lovers in their lives! When I started it at the end of last year, I was prompted to fill out a little questionnaire on their website so that they could get a sense of the types of teas I like and dislike. They used that information to help determine what to include in my boxes. I was pretty open minded when answering the questions, so I ended up with a wide variety of options. That is exactly what I wanted because it gave me the chance to try teas that I might not have normally purchased myself! Below is a glimpse of what the boxes and their contents look like: Each box came with 4 different kinds of teas to enjoy an...

Murder Mystery Tea Party

I have always wanted to do a murder mystery themed tea party because I thought it might be interesting to combine elegance with just a touch of horror! So this week I finally went ahead and organized one! Special thank you to my mom and dad for helping me with the story line and other details! And thank you also to my grandma, sisters, and the D'Angelo family for attending and participating! For this event I kept the menu relatively basic by preparing simple finger sandwiches (egg salad as well as cucumber) and a fruit tart. To add to the theme, I iced some sugar cookies with black question marks. My mom used the same black icing to draw the outline of a body on top of the cake, but added some colorful flowers to balance out the gruesomeness. ;) The setting was a high school reunion! In attendance was a tough-girl bully, perky ex-cheerleader, glitzy celebrity, exhausted mother, successful business woman, cafeteria lunch lady, and drunken teacher. Each of these party ...
